Hiya and Welcome to the Environmental and

Sustainability Page.

My name is Jade Garrett, orginally from Jo’burg
South Africa, I now study Film and Media at
Trinity as well as being the Exec Officer on all
matters relating to the Environment and
Sustainability of the Union and college.

I have plenty of things planned for the union and the unversity, so if you wanna help make a difference by causing awareness or by implementing through action please don’t hesitate to e-mail me and become part of my committee. If you want to help but don’t have much time on your hands I still need messangers(bush telegraph/word of mouth is one of the most powerful acts of news reporting), so I will need you.

The first big task is too get the students of TrinityCollege in the habit of recycling. There is virtually nothing on campus at the moment, we have to change that. I know you are sitting there thinking I’m probably one of those tie-dye t-shirt wearing, doesn’t drink and hugs trees kinda environmentalist. Well the thing is the only reason I was hugging the tree was because I had been drinking Bow and Black like the rest of the College and thought the tree needed some support. How I ended up wearing the tie-dye I will never know.
But even then in those moments it’s up to us to recycle so when we wake up(with or without a hangover) our carbon foot print is lower and global warming has been halted slightly.
If we all do our bit then in the end it is us that would have made the difference.
