MATURE STUDENTS OFFICER – Job Description
THE MATURE STUDENTS OFFICER SHALL :
Be a mature student at the start of the election.
Be responsible for organising a Mature Students’ Group and encouraging Mature Students to participate within it.
Provide a perspective on the issues which affect mature students to the Executive Committee, and ensure that this is recognised in all areas of the Union’s work.
Establish and maintain contacts with mature students groups in other unions throughout the country, NUS Wales Mature Students’ Officer, NUS Mature Students Committee, and the Mature Students’ Union (MSU).
Establish a number of projects relating to mature students’ education, welfare and social needs at the beginning of the year, as agreed by the executive committee.
Convene and chair a Mature Students Committee.
Attend all training events relevant to the post.
Be an unpaid, part-time officer of the Union, and act as a trustee of the S.U and so sit on the Executive Committee.
