The entertainment provided by the SU is high quality, diverse and value for money. We try to cater for everyone’s tastes with a mixture of live
bands, DJs, comedians and various entertainers from across the country, club nights and themed events. Past acts who have appeared range from Big Brovaz, Peter Andre and Coolio to Tony Blackburn and Timmy Mallet.
The Union also regularly plays host to a variety of local bands and acts. It all starts during Freshers’ Fortnight – the first two weeks of the year are packed with a mixture of entertainment and provides a great opportunity to meet new friends – and continues throughout the year.
We also hold a number of lavish balls throughout the year including Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day, as well as the spectacular Summer Ball held at the end of the year. The Summer Ball is the biggest event of the year running from 6:00pm to 6:00am – with a funfair, marquees, fireworks, various big name bands as well as novelty acts.
