Disabled Access

Trinity College actually owns the SU building and acts as our Landlord. With disabled people representing over one in five of the population, the lack of access upstairs in the SU building is a major area of concern.

From 1st October 2004 every business, large or small, will need to become more user-friendly to the UK's disabled people. New duties under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) call for improvements including adapting premises, removing physical barriers or providing services in an alternative way to disabled customers when a physical barrier makes it difficult to use a service.

We believe that The College has been granted about Ă‚£250,000 by HEFCW, over three years, to make improvements to access throughout the College. We understand from the College that the SU will soon have a lift allowing access to the first floor.
