Advice & Support

The Students' Union is happy to provide advice and support to all students. Most students will face challenges of one sort or another during their Course and the SU is committed to helping you to overcome these issues.

This is a particularly stressful and difficult time for many students as they try to cope with financial and academic pressures. If you feel unhappy or are having any sort of difficulty then please approach me and we will look at what can be done to improve the situation.

This section isn't just for students in crisis - it's for everyone whether you're a fresher, a postgraduate or a mature student. Our aim is to maintain and promote the welfare of our students, by supplying them with helpful information and running campaigns on a whole host of issues.

In brief, we can help you with any concerns that you may have, whether or not this is in person or be by acting as a sign posting service, directing you to other relevant individual's/organisations.

Basically if you have any problem however big or small, if we can't help, we'll know someone who can!

Many of our decisions are made and problems clarified or resolved by talking them over with someone, friends, family, tutors. However, there are times when it seems right to seek help elsewhere - the SU sabbatical team is there to meet this need. You might be hesitant about using this service because you may think your problem is not important enough, but a good thing to remember is that if something is worrying you, it's worth talking about.
